The National Energy Administration has revealed at a press conference held recently that by the end of the year, China will achieve a total installed capacity of 35 million kilowatts of wind turbines. Wu Hao said that the actual installed capacity may exceed this figure, but he did not give a specific forecast.

In contrast, the US wind power industry situation this year is not optimistic. According to a report released recently by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), it is expected that the installed capacity of US wind turbines will drop by 39% year-on-year this year.

Su Siyi, secretary-general of the Global Wind Energy Council, stated on October 12th at the Global Wind Energy Outlook 2010 report that the total installed capacity of wind power in China is likely to surpass that of the United States at the end of this year, but officials have not responded to this before. According to statistics, in the middle of this year, the installed capacity of wind power in China has exceeded 30 million kilowatts, which has completed the target of 30 million kilowatts for wind power installed in China in 2020.
