Bosch decides to temporarily reduce Japanese factory production

Bosch , a German auto parts supplier, said that the company has decided to temporarily reduce its production in Japan. The reasons include the following three points: 1. The current situation in Japan is not yet clear, and the use of infrastructure in some areas is severely restricted; 2. Some Bosch factories cannot be guaranteed uninterrupted supply of water and electricity; 3. Many auto parts suppliers in Japan are affected by fuel oil. Shortage limit.

Bosch pointed out that because the company is not yet aware of the extent to which some of its suppliers are affected by the disaster, the company is trying to coordinate with its suppliers and car manufacturers to find solutions.

Prior to this, Bosch had established an emergency affairs coordination group in Japan to handle the necessary activities of the company's Japanese associates in the local area. It is reported that after consulting with Bosch employees, most of the Bosch employees in Germany have left Japan and the company has provided assistance to them.

Bosch CEO Franz Fehrenbach stated, “We are deeply concerned about the impact of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami disasters and are the company's associated companies, customers, suppliers and partners as well as affected companies. The Japanese people are worried."

Bosch stated that there are no casualties in the company's branch offices in Japan. The company is evaluating the damage to its office building. At the same time, the company stated that there have been no incidents of fire or office building collapse at the Bosch plant.

Currently, Bosch has suspended its global associates' travel to Japan.
