Brazil adjusts import tariffs on some mechanical equipment products

According to Brazil's official announcement of the Brazil Foreign Trade Commission No. 41 and 42 issued on August 19th, Brazil will reduce import tariffs on 259 kinds of machinery and equipment products, mainly involving power generation, petrochemical and steel industries. Among them, the import duty of 250 kinds of products will be reduced from the current 14% to 2%, and the import tariff of 9 kinds of products will be reduced from the current 8-18% to 2%. This measure is effective from the date of the announcement and is valid until December 31, 2010.
