The just-concluded Beijing Auto Show clearly promoted the sale of vehicles in November. According to the sales data of the Passenger Cars Association, the total number of passenger vehicle sales in the country exceeded 470,000 in November. Among them, 374,491 vehicles were sold in the country, a strong increase of 24% compared with October, and this year set a new high for the auto market.
So far, cumulative sales in the first 11 months of this year have reached 4.44 million. According to this, the expert asserted that sales in China's domestic market have surpassed Japan's for a foregone conclusion this year, and that in 2007 China could produce more cars than Germany.
The top ten sales companies have all experienced growth under the influence of the market environment. However, the company with the most obvious growth momentum is Chery, followed by FAW-Volkswagen, FAW Toyota, Tianjin FAW, Guangzhou Honda, Shanghai Volkswagen and Shenlong Motor Company. The market growth rate of these companies is obviously higher than the average growth rate of 24% in the November auto market. The growth rates of Shanghai GM, Beijing Hyundai, and Dongfeng Nissan are lower than the average growth rate of the auto market. The company’s sales rankings have changed significantly. Chery, Guangzhou Honda, Shenlong Automobile and Tianjin FAW have significantly increased their prices. Beijing Hyundai Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Nissan Co., Ltd. declined. Geely was squeezed out of the top ten sales. The competition among the top ten companies in the auto market in December is still fierce.
The top 10 hot-selling models did not change much. Camry and Poussin rolled into the top 10. Jie achieved the sales champion this month, but also set a record high sales for one year, with monthly sales exceeding 15,000 units. The other nine models are Excelle, Accord, Xiali, Elantra, Camry, QQ, New Qiyun, Lingyu and Poussin. In November, Camry’s sales increased by 68% to 13,000 units, finally surpassing that of mid- to high-end models, and its sales were directed at the championship model Accord. And if the sales of Camry climbs again, the two major manufacturers, Guangzhou Honda and Shanghai Volkswagen, will definitely adopt a coping strategy. This means that the price war in the high-end auto market will kick off. As long as the mid-to-high-end auto market price war begins, the entire mid-level auto market will be involved in price cuts.
From the point of view of the annual production and sales tasks, Shanghai GM, FAW-Volkswagen, Guangzhou Honda, FAW Toyota and other manufacturers have a better completion rate of tasks, while several automakers represented by Dongfeng Honda and Southeast Automotive have made slower progress in completing plans at the beginning of the year. Among them, South East Motor planned to sell 90,000 units at the beginning of the year, and later it was adjusted to 50,000 units. As of October, Southeast Motor sold 31,000 vehicles, completing 62% of planned production and sales, of which only 13,337 vehicles were sold by Mitsubishi Lancer. Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has sold 47,100 vehicles and completed 52.33% of its planned production and sales. CIVIC sold 25,400 vehicles in the first 10 months, and the completion rate was only 42.33%. In addition, there are FAW Mazda, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, Haima Motors, Shenlong Motors, etc., and there is a certain distance from the targets set at the beginning of the year.
According to professional forecasts, China's domestic auto sales will exceed 7 million this year, surpassing Japan. In 2007, the Chinese market will increase by 1 million units this year. The total sales volume of passenger cars (excluding minivans) will exceed 4.8 million, while commercial vehicles will grow by 10%, and total sales will exceed 8 million. As a result, it may surpass Germany, second only to the United States, and become the world's second largest auto market.
