China will complete 23 national standards for environmental protection equipment and waste utilization this year

Huang Jin, the Secretariat of the National Environmental Product Standardization Technical Committee, said that the 23 national standards that will be completed and approved this year are all standards that have been drafted in 2008. Of these, 10 have been completed and submitted for approval, including medical waste incineration, air purification, waste incineration, tail gas treatment, water pollution control, stable stabilization of hazardous waste, sewage treatment, water reuse and other equipment standards. The six criteria for preparation and approval are the design procedures for complete sets of sewage treatment equipment, landfill compactors, desulfurization circulating pumps, and flue gas regulating tower equipment. Several other criteria that are being solicited are the terms of the kitchen waste disposal and utilization equipment in the catering industry, the rapid coverage and restoration of vegetation equipment in urban landfill sanitary landfills, the harmlessness of manure and resource-removal stations, and the environmental protection equipment. And product classification, closed medical waste incinerators, livestock and poultry manure treatment and comprehensive utilization of equipment.
According to reports, before the National Environmental Protection Products Standardization Technical Committee formulated these standards, it began to conduct evaluation and research on the environmental effects of environmental protection products and equipment. The purpose is to establish and improve the evaluation index system of environmental protection products, and provide support for the establishment of environmental protection product certification evaluation system. And provide scientific decision-making basis for government departments to issue relevant policies and regulations.
