Recently, GE Marine Solutions received a contract to equip Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS)'s two multi-purpose supply vessels (MSVs) with the MV3000 Active Front End (AFE) drive and dynamic positioning (DP) system.

It is reported that these two next-generation supply vessels meet the requirements of the US Jones Act and were built by American Eastern Shipbuilding and delivered this year. Previously, GE had provided equipment for 20 ships built by Oriental Shipbuilding, paving the way for this cooperation.
GE's MKII MV3000 AFE is manufactured at the company's UK facility and features high power density and small footprint. In addition, GE will provide its latest SeaStream DP system with a new design, improved operational control interface, easier control of the ship, easier display of important information, and improved DP operational efficiency.
