Grinding equipment selection principle

The processing capacity of ball mills and rod mills is related to the following factors: ore grindability, grain size of the ore and final product, type and size of the mill, matching of the shape and dimensions of the liner, shape of the grinding media, Size, matching ratio and its physical and mechanical properties, mill speed medium filling rate and pulp filling rate, grinding concentration, type of classifier and its working system. Because there are many factors affecting the processing capacity of the mill, and the changes are large, there is no theoretical formula for accurately calculating the processing capacity of the mill. In beneficiation plant design, mill processing capacity is generally determined based on experiments, experience. The processing capacity of the ball mill and the rod mill is usually calculated by the volume method or the power consumption method.

The selection of the grinding machine should meet the following requirements:

(1) The rod mill is mostly used for rough grinding. The grinding product has a particle size of 1 to 3 mm and the re-election plant can be 0.5 mm. The particle size is too fine and the grinding efficiency is significantly reduced. Due to the influence of the movement of the grinding rod in the mill, the diameter of the rod mill is generally not more than Ñ„4500mm, and the length of the rod is not more than 6000mm. When the rod mill is combined with the ball mill, the ratio of the rod mill to the ball mill should be 1:2.

(2) The lattice type ball mill is mostly used for rough grinding, and is generally used for the first stage of grinding in single-stage grinding or two-stage grinding. In closed-circuit operation, the fineness of grinding is generally 50-70% -0.074mm. The grinding machine is equipped with a spiral classifier.

(3) The overflow ball mill can be used for one section of grinding or for re-grinding of the second section of grinding or intermediate products. At present, it is mostly used in the second section or intermediate product regrind operation, and the classification equipment is generally equipped with a hydrocyclone. When the mill is used for the first stage of grinding, it is sometimes equipped with a spiral classifier. Large ball mill (generally larger than Ñ„4000mm), mostly using overflow ball mill and hydrocyclone to form a grinding circuit, which not only simplifies the structure of the mill, but also facilitates maintenance and repair.

(4) When selecting the self-grinding machine , semi-autogenous grinding machine and gravel mill, pay special attention to whether there is good self-grinding medium in the ore. The self-grinding medium index can be used to determine the ore self-grinding medium index and data processing. Determine whether there is a good self-grinding medium and determine whether self-grinding, semi-self-grinding and gravel grinding semi-industrial tests are required. After the semi-industrial test, the empirical formula is used to calculate the selection of the self-grinding machine, the semi-autogenous grinding machine and the gravel mill.
