Hyundai Heavy Industries launches ship DF host system

It is reported that Korea Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. first developed a dual fuel (Dual Fuel) host system for ships. Hyundai Heavy Industries and Danish MDT jointly designed and produced a dual-fuel mainframe for shipbuilding, and Hyundai Heavy Industries independently developed a dual-fuel HiMSEN mainframe (medium-sized mainframe) and LNG fuel supply system for ships and power generation. The dual-fuel main engine for ships is 35,600 horsepower. If necessary, liquid fuel and gaseous fuel can be selectively used. In terms of performance, there is no difference in performance compared with diesel engines, and exhaust emissions can be reduced.

According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Sulfur Compound (Sox) specification, which has been in force since 2015, the number of environmentally regulated areas in the United States, Norway, and the North Sea of ​​Europe will continue to increase. The market for host systems that use LNG as a fuel on a global scale will gradually expand.
