Railway trainee sent to the injured

On the afternoon of August 5th, the first group of 16 critically wounded people rescued from the epicenter of the “8.3” earthquake in Ludian changed to the “Save 001” train in Zhaotong Railway Station and went to Kunming for further treatment. The Chengdu Railway Bureau organized more than 80 people and assisted the public security armed police, medical rescue personnel and other personnel to use stretchers to send patients into the carriage (Figure 1).

Civil Aviation Launches Rescue Air Express

On August 3rd after the Ludian earthquake, Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines immediately launched an emergency plan to build a solid and fast “airline of life” for the earthquake relief work.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, China Eastern Airlines received a request from the Yunnan Provincial Government for emergency relief missions and sent two rescue flights. A total of 148 personnel from the disaster relief team arrived in Zhaotong. From August 4 to August 10, CEA will increase daily flights from Kunming to Zhaotong to 8 flights, covering all hours of the day.

Leading Post Office in Longtoushan Town

At 7:00 on August 4th, the first postal temporary business office was set up on the streets of Longtoushan Township, the hardest-hit area, and three employees held positions to provide postal services to the people in the affected areas (Figure 3).

After the earthquake, the Yunnan Provincial Postal Administration and the Yunnan Post Company immediately launched an emergency earthquake relief plan. On the afternoon of the 3rd, Zhaotong Post Office and Ludian County Post Office respectively formed a seismic relief team and rushed to the disaster area. The earthquake caused severe damage to the houses of the Ludian County Post Office and the sub-branches (institutions), including the collapse of the house of the Longtoushan Post Office.
