In the first quarter of this year, Qingdao’s auto parts exports increased by 40%

Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce that in the first quarter of this year, the export of auto parts in Qingdao was 110 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 41.7% year-on-year, 10.4 percentage points higher than the city's export growth, and accounted for 1.3% of the city's exports.

According to statistics, in the first quarter, foreign investment and private companies accounted for 92% of total auto parts exports in the first quarter. Among them, the foreign-invested enterprises exported 60.87 million US dollars of auto parts, an increase of 29.4%, accounting for 58.0% of the city's auto parts exports. Private enterprises exported 37.759 million US dollars, an increase of 52.2% year-on-year, accounting for 34.2% of the city's auto parts exports. The collective export volume of collective enterprises is relatively small, but the growth rate is higher than that of other enterprises, with exports of 4.16 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 63.1%.

The United States and Asia are two major markets for the export of auto parts in Qingdao. In the first quarter, Qingdao exported 45.51 million U.S. auto parts to the United States, an increase of 32.1% year-on-year, accounting for 37.7% of the city’s auto parts exports; and exported 38.43 million U.S. dollars to Asia, an increase of 39.2% year-on-year, accounting for 31.1% of the city’s auto parts exports. . Cuba was the first new market entered by Qingdao enterprises. In the first quarter, it exported 2.81 million U.S. dollars, and new markets have achieved remarkable results.

Relevant parties believe that after the Great East Japan Earthquake, as a result of the decline in production by a number of automakers in Japan, it also brought business opportunities to some auto parts manufacturers in Qingdao.
