Cargotec's MacGregor has received an order from China Wuchang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. to provide a 100-ton SWL active heave compensation subsea crane for installation to an anchor handling towing supply vessel (AHTS). It was built for offshore expert China Oilfield Services Co., Ltd. (COSL).
It is reported that the ship is a Rolls-Royce UT788 design ship and is expected to be delivered by wuchuan in March 2015. After being put into operation, it will carry out offshore service operations in the South China Sea, and can engage in deep water and ultra-deep water operations in offshore areas such as Brazil, West Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea.
