A manganese minerals floatability
There are two types of manganese-containing minerals: one is an oxide; the other is a carbonate. The floatability of important manganese minerals is as follows:
Manganese ore MnCO3, containing 47.8% Mn, is a relatively easy-floating mineral in manganese ore. Collectors are commonly used in fatty acids, of which oleic acid works best. The most suitable pH for flotation is 8-9. Medium adjuster is commonly used sodium carbonate. Water glass can be used to inhibit quartz gangue, but the alkalinity is too high or the amount of water glass is too large, which has an inhibitory effect on rhodochrosite.
Pyrolusite MrS2, containing Mn63.2%, is less difficult to float than rhodochrosite, and the collector uses fatty acids during flotation. The pH adjuster is sodium carbonate. Gangue inhibitor water glass. Dextrin and citric acid are inhibitors of manganese oxide ore. Oxalic acid activates it. The test proves that in the flotation of manganese oxide ore, it is collected by oleic acid. Under the condition of pH 6.5, the manganese ore and the manganite are relatively easy to float, while the soft manganese ore and hard manganese ore are the most difficult to float. Only when tartaric acid and water glass are used to disperse the slime can a satisfactory result be obtained. When there is mud, the flotation effect is poor. Desliming the ore, such as removing 10μμ of slime, can improve the flotation index.
Flotation method of B manganese ore
The collectors used in the flotation of manganese ore are oleic acid, tal oil and oxidized paraffin soap. Additionally, hydrocarbon oils may also be used (such as heavy oil, coal oil) was added an emulsifier (e.g., hydrocarbon sulfate esters, etc.) flotation. However, the amount of hydrocarbon oil is very large, ranging from a few kilograms to a dozen kilograms per ton of ore. The most suitable pH for manganese ore flotation is 7-9. In order to adjust the slurry, and dispersion suppressing gangue slimes, often with a small amount of sodium carbonate and sodium silicate, tannin and phosphate, but not excessive, the excess manganese was inhibited. SO2 and other reducing agents activate the manganese minerals. When flotation of manganese oxide ore, the adverse effects of water are significant.
Flotation of manganese ore with Tal oil in two cases: If the gangue in the manganese ore is a carbonate such as calcite , the dextrin is first used to inhibit manganese ore in the alkaline medium, flotation of calcite, and then in the acid slurry, using the tower The oil is used as a collector to float manganese ore; if the gangue is quartz, etc., the manganese ore can be floated directly in the acidic slurry.
The test proves that when tar oil and fuel are used as collectors and emulsified with emulsifier, the re-selected tailings with manganese content of 16.296 are treated in the slurry of pH 4~5, and the obtained concentrate grade contains Mn36.6%. The recovery rate was 90.1%.
