The standard construction project for the research and development of key technologies for the purification of solar-grade polysilicon materials undertaken by the Fujian Institute of Materials Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was approved last week. The project results have been applied to Fujian Yitian Silicon Industry Co., Ltd., and large-scale industrialization will soon take place.
According to the project host, during the implementation of the project, they broke through the metallurgical boron removal dynamic limit, combined with high vacuum phosphorus removal technology and vacuum melting directional solidification integration technology, successfully developed a set of universal and autonomous The complete metallurgical method of intellectual property was used to purify the polysilicon process and a high-purity (6N) metallurgical silicon solar material was obtained. The process can be used to purify industrial silicon raw materials with boron and phosphorus content of 10 mg/kg or more to silicon materials with boron content of 0.5 to 0.6 mg/kg and phosphorus content of 0.2 to 0.3 mg/kg, with metal impurities below 0.1 mg. / Kg, the finished product rate reached 60%, and it has a good prospect of industrial application.
The project team also cooperated with Fujian Yitian Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. to develop core key technologies such as out- furnace refining and improved secondary refining/directional solidification, forming a complete set of polysilicon production technology and building a polysilicon production line with an annual output of 1,500 tons. The boron and phosphorus content of the product is about 1 mg/kg, the metal impurity content is lower than 0.8 mg/kg, the finished product rate is 66%, and the energy consumption is reduced to 90 kWh/kg.
In addition, the project also relies on a solar energy-grade silicon material standard analysis and test platform and a physical mechanism research platform for semiconductor photovoltaic materials and devices, and has established a solar-grade polysilicon material comprehensive testing laboratory, and has passed CMA measurement certification.
