Zhuo Chuang Liu Yu, an analyst of refined oil products, said that although there is still one working day before the price adjustment window is opened, international oil prices haven’t been closed for two days on the weekend. Therefore, the price adjustment of refined oil products has basically been confirmed. As of the close on the 26th, the comprehensive change rate of several major crude oils measured by Zhuochuang Information has dropped to -2.37%, and it is estimated that the refined oil products will be lowered by about 145 yuan/ton this evening, equivalent to 93 yuan of gasoline at 0.11 yuan/liter.
China introduced a refined product oil pricing mechanism at the end of March 2013. According to the new mechanism, domestic gasoline and diesel prices are adjusted every 10 working days according to changes in crude oil prices in the international market. When the price adjustment rate is lower than 50 yuan per ton, no adjustments will be made and they will be included or offset during the next price adjustment. Since the new mechanism was operated for a year and a half, the domestic retail price of refined oil products has experienced 11 gains, 14 losses and 12 lay-offs, a total of 37 rounds of price adjustment cycles, and the cumulative price of gasoline and diesel has fallen to 510 yuan per ton. Since the beginning of this year, the domestic retail prices of refined oil products have gone through a downward adjustment of 4 times and 6 times.
