"China Railway No.1" composite shield prototype passes expert appraisal

On July 18th, Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology organized domestic experts to conduct scientific and technological achievements appraisal of Tianjin China Railway No.1, a prototype of the national “863 Plan” composite shield machine, completed by China Railway Tunnel Group under China Railway Engineering Corporation.

At the scene, the expert group listened in detail to the details of the “China Railway No. 1” shield tunneling at the camp and the right lane, conducted on-site inspection of the shield machine and construction application site, and fully affirmed that China Railway Tunnel Group’s “China Railway No.1” The results of the comprehensive absorption, successful use, scientific operation, segment installation quality, and tunneling molding quality of shield technology performance have been achieved. The expert group believes that through a series of research, development and creation, the China Railway Tunnel project team has mastered the design, assembly and commissioning technology of composite shield machines and the processing technology of key parts, and successfully developed a composite shield with independent intellectual property rights. The prototype machine is innovative and advanced, and the achievements have reached the international advanced level. It has reached the international advanced level in the development of composite cutterhead tools and foam injection technology. The expert group believes that this project has great economic, social, and environmental benefits and can be used and promoted in underground tunnel projects.
