China's first marine dual-fuel low-speed machine successfully submitted for inspection

On September 11, 2017, Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd. successfully inspected the first YCMP-WIN GD 7RT-flex50DF marine dual-fuel low-speed machine in China. This is the second batch and the sixth DF series dual-fuel low-speed machine successfully delivered by Yuchai Ships following the successful delivery of the world's first 5RT-flex50DF mainframe in June 2015.
It is reported that this is the first time that Yuchai Ships has provided the ship's main engine package for CSSC. The 7RT-flex50DF dual-fuel main engine will be used for the 1400TEU LNG power container ship built by the Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard for the German shipowner Nordic Hamburg, which is the first ice-enhanced LNG power container ship in Europe.

Due to the cleanliness and low cost of natural gas, dual fuel technology is rapidly developing into the field of marine low speed machines. In the dual-fuel low-speed engine based on the lean combustion principle (Alto cycle), the SOx and PM emissions are almost zero, and the NOx is reduced by 85%-90% compared with the conventional low-speed machine of the same working condition, and the CO2 is reduced by 15%-20%.

Yuchai Ship Motion is the only engine factory in China that can mass produce dual-fuel low-speed machines. It has launched the world's first low-speed marine products such as W-X35, W-X40 and RT-flex50DF. The successful delivery of the dual-fuel main engine marked the further improvement of Yuchai's dual-fuel environmentally-friendly low-speed machine manufacturing capability and further enhanced market competitiveness.
