The mining methods used for differently produced Glauber 's salt deposits are also different. Modern salt lake deposits are mainly open-pit mining, followed by underground mining and combined mining. The brine of modern salt lakes adopts the method of “casting and dryingâ€; open mining is used for bare or near-surface solid minerals; underground mining or combined mining is used for buried mirabilite deposits buried deep underground for more than 100 meters. Modern salt lake deposits can also be divided into artificial mining and mechanical mining; ancient salt lake mirabilite solid deposits have two types: dry mining and water mining. The underground brine mining has self-spraying method and mechanical method.
