Beware of the marginalization of commercial vehicle parts

For a long time, it has been said that supporting auto parts is mainly passenger car parts. This is understandable because passenger cars in China started relatively late and parts for passenger cars started almost from scratch. After more than 20 years of development, passenger car parts can meet the matching needs of passenger cars both in terms of scale and technical quality, and the localization rate can reach over 80%.

For commercial vehicle parts and components, China has more than half a century of development history. The parts and components systems are relatively complete and have a good foundation. Especially since the reform and opening up, China's commercial vehicle vehicles have achieved greater development through joint ventures and cooperation with foreign companies. In particular, heavy-duty vehicles and buses have not only met the needs of the domestic market, but also exported to the international market. At the same time, through the independent research and development, the introduction of technology, and joint ventures, the parts and components companies with which they are supporting have greatly improved the overall level of China's commercial vehicle parts.

At present, we can clearly see such a status quo. The field of passenger cars in China is mainly the competition between international multinational auto companies and their parts supply systems. Its parts and components companies are mainly foreign-funded and have obvious advantages in technology, equipment and capital, and can develop in sync with the whole vehicle. The domestic spare parts companies of passenger cars have basically been marginalized.

At the same time, the main areas of commercial vehicles are self-owned brand products. On the whole, the technological foundation of commercial vehicle parts is relatively poor, the scale of production is small, scattered, and the repetition of low-level is serious, and it is basically in an orderly state of self-destruction. Following this trend, with the improvement of the technical level of commercial vehicle vehicles, the grades will increase, and some domestic-funded parts and components companies will also be further marginalized. This has a bearing on the safety of China's industries and should arouse our high concern and take effective measures to resolve them.

At present, we must fully realize that China's commercial vehicles have strong development potential, accumulated decades of experience, a complete R&D team, and strong manufacturing capabilities. Compared with passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles are labor-intensive products and have obvious comparative advantages. According to statistics, the output of commercial vehicles in China ranks second in the world, and most of the auto vehicles exported are commercial vehicles. It can be predicted that through hard work, China still has the opportunity to become a dominant manufacturer of commercial vehicles with its own brands.

Product quality, technology must be upgraded. In order to expand the market scope, commercial vehicle products must be upgraded to meet the regulatory requirements for emissions, energy conservation, and safety. We have mastered the traditional manufacturing technology of mechanical parts, but this can not meet the future development requirements of commercial vehicles, the application of electronic control technology is the most important factor restricting the independent brand parts. At present, the power systems, brake systems, transmission systems, and steering systems of commercial vehicles in foreign countries have gradually achieved electronic control. China's commercial vehicle parts are still relatively backward, and they have not mastered core technologies or even applied technologies. If China's commercial vehicles do not use electronically controlled components, it will be difficult to meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, thus losing market competitiveness and even limiting market access.

Therefore, we must make breakthroughs in electronic control. We must master core technologies through our own R&D to increase the degree of electronic control of commercial vehicles. In addition, we must strengthen the application of new materials and increase the strength and life span of commercial vehicle parts. Lightweight. Only in this way can our commercial vehicles meet the market demand in terms of technology and cost.

At the same time, the commercial vehicle industry should also be organized to make full use of the superior resources of the entire industry and work together to achieve the upgrading of China's commercial vehicle products. The industrial alliance is a relatively good organizational form. There are vehicle manufacturers, key spare parts companies, and industry research institutes participating in the establishment of a common technology platform for major key component assemblies and other basic technologies. Enterprises share technological achievements. Therefore, the parts companies and the vehicle companies must form a strategic alliance relationship. We must take the upgrading of commercial vehicle products as an opportunity to rationalize, reshape, and consolidate the entire vehicle fleet in China's commercial vehicle industry through the organization of industrial alliances. Parts relations.

It is hoped that relevant state departments will attach importance to and take effective measures to vigorously support the development of China's commercial vehicle parts and components, so that China's commercial vehicles will occupy an important position in the domestic and international markets, and will become a manufacturing power for commercial vehicles.
