At the same time, Europe, North America and other traditional automotive consumer countries have not been restored due to the financial crisis. This makes Ford Motors must seize the world's largest emerging market - China.
“These western and developing cities will be the main source of future auto market growth.†Han Ruiqi, chairman and chief executive of Ford China, said that most of the new dealers are located in the rapidly growing western and northern cities of China. Including Fuyang, Shijiazhuang, Harbin, Chongqing Wanzhou, Anyang and so on.
In September of this year, Ford Motor announced that it will invest RMB 3.34 billion in China to build a new Changan Ford Mazda automotive plant. After the completion of the project, Changan Ford Mazda's production capacity will reach 600,000. In addition, the new engine plant of Changan Ford Mazda will also start construction in 2011. After completion, the total output of Changan Ford Mazda will increase from 350,000 units to 750,000 units.
