Wang Binggang: New energy should not exclude hybrid cars

Last week, at the seminar on the development of China's energy-saving and new energy vehicle power battery industry, Wang Binggang, head of the supervision and advisory expert group on national energy conservation and new energy vehicle major projects of the National 863 Program, said that hybrid vehicles are used as the development path for new energy vehicles. The most industrialized new energy sources should not be excluded from the planning of new energy industries.

Wang Binggang said that in the country's planning for the new energy industry, hybrid power should not and should not be rejected. "Hybrid power is the most industrialized condition. It is neither a transitional strategy nor should it be abandoned, as long as traditional cars exist. One day, various forms of hybrid technology are good ways for conventional vehicles to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, and they will be used more and more widely.”

Wang Binggang also said that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, various hybrid technologies will be applied universally, which is not in contradiction with the development of energy-saving and new energy vehicles.
